Adwowa Afenyi-Annan and I (both pictured left) met on a similar version of this trip in 2013 with the Language Academy. In fact, she liked it so much that she came back in 2014 and brought her parents along. Since that time, we’ve become like family. I’d do anything for her and she’d do the same for me. If you’ve seen any of the pictures from our previous trips, one of the first things you’ll notice is that they attract a diverse group of people, diverse not just in race but also in gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation and political views. Today we find ourselves in divisive times, so we decided to do something to help bring people together. Out of that mission comes United Through Travel, a project to celebrate the differences among us and to bond through a shared travel experience. For our second adventure we picked a place we know well, the Basque Country, in Northern Spain. San Sebastian will be our home base for the duration of the trip but we'll make plenty of day trips. We'll even spend a full day Southwestern France in the resort city of Biarritz and the village of Saint Jean de Luz. If you haven’t been to San Sebastian, you are in for a real treat. It’s a small city of about 200,000 people, with mountains behind you, the beach in front, and some of the greatest food and wine that the world has to offer. As you will quickly learn, spending time in San Sebastian is an experience like no other. - Craig Snyder, Language Academy President & CEO
