The Language Academy of the Carolinas, Inc. began in March of 2004 with one Spanish class. Craig Snyder, the President & CEO, didn’t have a space to hold his first class so he asked his parents if he could use their dining room table. Craig would need to look for a small office shortly thereafter as the number of classes he was giving rapidly grew.
The first office was a small, two-classroom building in Huntersville. Again, Craig quickly outgrew that space and eventually moved to a permanent location in University City where other language classes would also be offered. In order to serve more people in Charlotte, The Language Academy partnered with the Jewish Community Center in South Charlotte and later established another proper office in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood.
As more and more people began to come to The Language Academy, area businesses started looking to The Language Academy to train their employees in language and culture. They would also seek services for translating documents and performing on-site interpreting.
The Language Academy has been featured in the Charlotte Observer, the Charlotte Business Journal, and was selected by Charlotte Magazine as the Best Place to Learn a New Language. We are proud of what we have been able to achieve over the years and hope that you enjoy working with us as much as we enjoy serving you!
